I started this section as a way to communicate with everyone about the things that are going on in our family - births, marriages, and yes, even deaths. I hope everyone will enjoy what I post and send their own news when they have time.

Horseback Riding with Seth - September, 2003

While visiting Mom & Dad recently, we had a chance to visit their neighbors. Their son Seth has a wonderful horse named shorty, which he was kind enough to let us ride. This horse was trained to cut cattle from a herd. He was really well-behaved and a joy to ride.

Samuel Landgraf Update

At almost 10 months, Sam is doing great. He enjoys sitting up on his own, eating lots of finger food, and drinking by himself out of his sippy cup. He has six teeth with more on the way! At his nine month doctor's appointment he was 30 inches long and 21.3 pounds. He loves to go for walks and runs with mom in the stroller and to read books. He is not yet crawling, but gets around pretty well by scooting on his tummy or on his bottom. In September, Sam enjoyed a visit from Uncle Drew, Aunt Heather and Cousin Ian Gruenhagen. They flew in from Michigan to visit for a week along with Uncle Tim and Aunt Kira (Gruenhagen) Townsend who flew in from Boise. Here are some of Sam's nine month pictures. Happy 50th Anniversary Maggie & Bob Hanusa!

Bob & Mag Hanusa celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 31, 2002. Congratulations and many hapy returns! Their children threw a party for them on Maui and put together a book with pages contributed by people all over.

Drew & Heather's New Baby

Drew Gruenhagen and his wife, Heather, recently had a baby boy. Ian Andrew was born on February 19, 2002 at 10:31 AM. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 21 inches long.

Samuel Landgraf's Birth and Baptism

Amy Landgraf and her husband Daniel had a baby boy on January 8, 2002 at 11:37 a.m.  He weighed 8 lbs. 6 ozs. and was 21 inches long. Samuel was baptized on February 10 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado, where they became members in November. His Grandma Landgraf, Aunt Janet Landgraf and Aunt Kira Townsend were all in attendance.

Trang & Dan Mastous' Wedding

On June 24, 2001, we hosted a wedding for my niece Trang at our house. Here are the pictures.

Todd & Kathy McDonald's Sweet New Baby Boy

Cody Douglas McDonald
8 lbs. 14 oz. 22" long
December 27, 2000 11:16 a.m.

Cody and Mom are doing well. Labor went fine. Contractions started at 2 a.m. Went to hospital at 10:15 a.m. 7 cm. dilated. Dr. broke the water bag then had a little bit of hard labor, pushed 15 minutes and he was out. Thank you God!! Todd and my mom were wonderful coaches. My dad brought Micah into room within 15 minutes of birth. What a memory I will hold in my heart forever. Micah's face just glowed with the hugest smile you can imagine. He is a very proud and happy Big Brother. He often comes by to check on Cody and give him a little pat on his head and says, "He's so cute." He's a great little helper. We are very proud of our family.

We came home on the 28th. Discharged with 10 others that day. Busy place.

The above message was written and meant to be sent a couple days after we came home but it took me this long - a month - to figure out how to attach photos. Hope they come through.

We're still doing well and adjusting to our bigger family life and realizing it takes even longer to get things done. But oh how we love having 2 very precious boys to love and 2 boys who love each other!!

Kira Gruenhagen and Timothy's Wedding
